What Is an Animal Health Certificate?
An Animal Health Certificate (AHC) is an official veterinary document required for most dogs, cats and ferrets travelling from Great Britain to the European Union when they do not have another accepted travel document.
The certificate confirms your pet's identity, microchip details and rabies vaccination status.
An AHC must be issued within 10 days before your pet enters the EU.
One certificate can cover up to five eligible pets travelling together under the applicable non-commercial pet travel rules.

What Does Your Pet Need?
Please ensure your pet meets the following travel requirements:
✓ Microchipped – Your pet must have a microchip implanted before or at the time of their qualifying rabies vaccination.
✓ Valid Rabies Vaccination – Your pet must be up to date. A 21-day waiting period applies after an initial vaccination or a lapse in cover.
✓ Veterinary Records – Upload your pet's clinical history, including microchip and rabies vaccination records, when booking.
✓ Travel Dates – Your Animal Health Certificate must be issued within 10 days before entering the EU.
✓ Appointment Booking – Book at least 3 days in advance and bring your pet to the appointment.
Please note: Furry Flyers does not provide vaccinations, medication or laboratory testing. Please arrange these with your usual veterinary practice if required.
